 Show Me Shepherds strives to produce a quality true type German
Shepherd puppy that enhances the lives of people with special needs
by providing highly trained assistance dogs, companion dogs and
therapy dogs along with ongoing support to ensure quality
partnerships and a better quality of life. All of our breedings are
done here and all dogs/puppies follow our training program. We go to
great lengths to research the lineage of our breeding pairs and
select matches that we believe will produce the best outcome. Our
fifteen plus years of experience and beliefs in the same
purpose/mission allow us to continue to work to preserve the
integrity of the breed as well as the integrity of those that we
serve.
Our Pets With A Purpose program is funded through the sale of our
puppies and by our own personal and private contributions to “Puppy
Love” (our support and training program for Puppy raisers). We
presently receive no government/corporate or agency funding. We do
not breed unless we have an identified need (SAR dog, diabetes
alert dog, companion/service dog etc…). After a potential candidate
is identified from a litter the remaining puppies are made available
to approved individuals/ families as pets/companions.
Since all of the pups are bred for the same outstanding qualities
(health, balanced & stabile personalities, intelligence, self
assuredness, and temperament) and undergoe an intense screening, we
are comfortable our puppies are suitable for placement in a variety
of settings. This would include most any environment which allows
the innate qualities of the true type German Shepherd to excel (Schhutzhund,
show, agility, obedience, therapy, S & R etc…).
 This is critical because the puppies that we offer and place in new
homes are as important to our goal/mission as are those chosen for a
specific job or service. We believe that after employing good sound
breeding practices, models of the true type GSD should be shared
with others for the betterment of the breed.
Through the generosity of others, we are, at times, able to offer
puppies and/or training free of charge or at a significantly reduced
fee (depending on the extent of the training necessary). Contact us

Our trained assistance dogs are placed free of charge, often to
children/individuals who would find the high cost of purchasing one
prohibitive (often $10,000-$15,000 fee charged by some companies).
We believe that anyone who can benefit from the love, companionship
and assistance of one of the most intelligent, intuitive and loyal
breed of dogs- the GSD, should have the opportunity to have one. We
are working very hard to expand our ability/program to provide dogs
to as many as we can. We are working on incorporating as a non
profit corporation. Along with recruiting Puppy Raisers, we are
exploring avenues to be able to hire help with training and to build
a multi purpose training facility. Until then we are happy to offer
a waiting list until we can grow into the rising demand.
