"Hi Mary Beth,
Well I
don't know where to begin. Miya is turning out
to be amazing!!! she is so loving, smart calm easy learner, and
obeys so well. I truly love her so much. She is Kaits best friend.
She far exceeds what I ever imagine my shepherd to be. And I almost
forgot she is beautiful, and those ears and head just perfect. She
finished her obedience pre novice ...... the dogs in her class were
much older, and adults were working them vs. Kaitlyn who could
probably have worked harder if she had more time. Miya did score a
194 1/2 which is awesome. She will be starting novice May 25th. Kait
is going to do tracking with her too.
Letty told me to tell you Miya is GORGEOUS. She is so happy with her
and she thinks you are doing a wonderful job.
Miya will be taking a long trip to New Hampshire with us next month.
We are driving and we will stay up there about 3 weeks. I can't wait
to take her hiking and watching her play in the lakes and rivers.
She reminds me so much of my Nick. I took her to pick Kait up the
other day and I just let her loose in the car. She looked around a
little bit and laid down and rested. Very calm."

"Hi Mary-Beth,
I am sorry it has taken me so long to write back. I
just want to let you know how Sarge is doing in his new home. I have
owned many dogs throughout my life and I can say without a doubt
that Sarge is the best dog, the best friend that I have ever had. He
is almost human in his intelligence. At night he leaves my side only
to walk down the hall to check on my sleeping five year old
daughter. As a single mother having him here eases my mind more than
anything else. He is also the greatest babysitter, in fact the other
day my daughter wandered off down the street and he jumped through
an open window to "herd" her back. Everyone who meets him gushes
over his beauty and his kindness. I just want to thank you for
letting us have him in our lives, he has become an irreplaceable
part of our family and we love him more than words could ever say."
Sincerely,
Amanda
"Hello Mary Beth,
We purchased one of the male
puppies from Shilo's & Sarge's litter this
past August. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to send any photos of
him!! But, I've finally down loaded them to my computer!
After much debate, we finally decided on the name Logan and
as he's grown, it really seems to suit
him. He is an absolute JOY! to have and I
can't imagine him not being a part of our family. He goes most
places with us and everywhere we go we get
stopped by people commenting on how
beautiful he is and on what a great disposition he has. (I've given
your website out to quite a few people inquiring where they
can get a shepherd like him). He is so
sweet and loving and wins everybody's
heart as soon as they meet him.
I have a six year old son and one of their favorite things
to play is hide & seek. Christopher will hide
somewhere (indoors or out) and Logan will track him until he
finds him. He never misses!! As gentle as
he is, though, he does have quite a
protective nature. And, as a single mother, this makes me feel very
secure! I met with Elisa this evening -
she has a deposit down on one of your new
puppies. Our dog trainer was so impressed with Logan that when
Elisa asked her where she could find a good breeder, she
immediately called me for your website.
You can add my e-mail and pics to the website - I'd be more
than happy to recommend you to anyone.
Even our vet asked where we got Logan. He has a shepherd
of his own (says they are his favorite breed) and he wanted
to know where we got him.
Well, I hope you and your family enjoyed the Holidays and
that you enjoy the photos Thank you again
for allowing Logan to be a part of our
lives. He really is a remarkable and wonderful dog!"
Sincerely,
Cheryl

Hi Mary Beth!
Thought it was time to touch base with you.
As you know, both Linda and myself are fairly knowledgeable
about dogs, and I raised German Shepherds as a boy (and Linda's
father did when he was a boy, even longer ago!), and I have NOT been
pleased with what I've seen over the last 40 years in the
development of American German Shepherds. In my opinion, they've
gotten skinnier, have narrower hips (which make it tough to be a
working dog, and in my non-expert opinion, may contribute to the
epidemic of hip problems now rampant), and frankly, look almost like
collies.
Thirteen years ago, when I bought Linda a German Shepherd,
the breeder was a retired Special Forces guy (like myself) and
imported all of his lines from Germany, where they are still holding
true to the concept of a working dog.
When he died last year, I started searching for a similar
breeder, as he was no longer in business. I was delighted to find
you, and I like your philosophy with the dogs very much. I
especially was --and am-- impressed that the temperaments are such
that you train them for therapy dogs, but the intelligence is
high…so high!
Merlyn and Athena are now nine months and six months old,
respectively. Both are among the most intelligent dogs I have ever
known. They are very family oriented, and very eager to please
I am delighted we found you, and I would recommend Show-Me
Shepherds to anyone who is serious about a quality GSD. In fact,
when I visited the website and saw there are puppies due…well,
temptation reared its head. But, large as the house is, for another
dog, I'd need to move to a farm.
Hmmm. Now that's an idea…! Know of any for sale down there?
I'll try to get Linda to take some pics for you.
Athena is a classic black and tan, and when I take her out,
she will automatically assume the "show" pose, while sniffing the
air, or watching trespassing squirrels or birds.
Both ladies love each other, and we love 'em.
Thanks.
Chuck
Marybeth,
I'm sorry I have not been keeping you up on Dutch. We call
him "Monster Dog". He's huge. When I'm at the sink, he likes to be
there, too. The picture of him with my hand in his mouth is the way
I usually see him, because he loves to chew on my hands. It's hard
to take pictures of him, as you can see by the one photo, because he
is so black and his eyes are black. His face does not show very
well. I can't go to the bathroom without him beating me in there. If
he hears bath, he hits it and beats me in there. Not for his bath,
because he hates that, but he likes to be in the bathroom when I
take my shower. He's like a kid, if it's quiet, I better get up and
see what he's in to. He loves his treats. Open the pantry door and
he's like a salesman with his foot in the door, only it's Dutch's
nose in the door. George taught him to get his own treats off the
door of the pantry. If the water is running in the bathroom vanity,
he likes to get a drink. Then he slaps his paw down. One time he
turned off the water after getting his drink, so I have been trying
to train him to turn it back off. Now if only I could get him to be
able to pull the faucet on when he wants a drink, I would not have
to have a bowl of water getting slopped in the kitchen. Ha! We love
him a lot. His coloring is beautiful. He has a little brown behind
his ears. It's kind of a rust color. When the weather clears up,
we'll have to drive over sometime so you can see him. I will send
some more. Sorry it's been so long.

Hi guys..
Just wanted to let you know that Hieler is doing great. We
took him to the vet on Jan 15 and he is a healthy 87 lbs. He is the
best dog. The family has slowly healed over Ozzy passing and have
realized that this dog is incredible. I day care during the day and
he is so good to the kids. He is just now feeling the urge to bark
when company comes to the door and at times he still thinks he is a
squirrel dog and has to chase. He eats good and plays hard. We are
taking him to the vet in 2 weeks to neuter. I am proud to tell that
he is a full breed shepherd but I guess I didn't realize how rare
they (an all black GSD) is in comparison to the dogs with more
color and markings. You should hearing from a dear friend about
wanting a dog and I'm sure they will mention Hieler. I day care for
their daughter and she is absolutely in love with him. I will send a
pic soon but he is certainly maturing into a fine young man.

Thanks so much for Hieler.

"Dear Mary Beth,
Thank you so much for such a beautiful puppy with such a wonderful
personality and attitude. We brought her home and had no problems
traveling in the car with her. She is kind and patient with our
girls and follows them wherever they go in our house. We have
decided to name her Gracious and we will call her Gracie. She is
playful and responsive but she is not difficult or wild like some
puppies can be. We are very pleased and we are so glad that we were
able to purchase this puppy from you.
Thank you,
Ariel and Konstantine B."
"Gracie continues to be an incredible addition to our
family. We
recently went on a week long vacation in a Winebago to Colorado.
Gracie traveled well and enjoyed hiking in the mountains. She fell
in love with the snow! We really enjoy her personality and company.
She is so smart. We have already
taught her seven different commands: sit, shake hands, lay down,
crawl, stay, come here and kennel (she will run from anywhere in the
house up to her kennel in my room.) I have just never been this
amazed by any dog before. I am so thankful for her."

“KILO is absolutely gorgeous, I mean handsome...loves
everyone, people and animals. We are having so much fun and good
times, we will definitely send some new pictures and we want to
write a testimonial, were not sure we will know when to stop
writing about how great everything is! Thank you some much for
giving us such an incredible friend. … I'm sorry to inform you of
this but I think it is necessary. You are going to have to tell all
your other customers that the puppies that they have gotten are all
second best because we got the best one. KILO is incredible!! We
took him to the doc yesterday, he is absolutely gorgeous, healthy,
and 46lbs!!!! We are having so much fun playing and working. He is
the star of his kindergarten class and is graduating Wednesday night
with honors! He and Harley are best friends and play constantly,
good for all of us. Thanks for giving us the best one and tell your
husband thanks for letting him go!! “

“Good morning Joe and Mary
Beth,
Thank you so much for the wonderful dog. It's only been a
mere 12 hours and I can already tell what a great dog Tiko is going
to be. He slept the entire two hours of a car ride home in Steve's
lap without a whimper. Once he got home around midnight he got
along relatively with the other two dogs. There was no animosity
from either one towards him or vise versa, just a little confusion
as to what to think with a new baby in the house. We finally got to
bed around 2:30 or 3 and he slept without waking up once in bed
until around 7 this morning. He hasn't had one accident in the
house, he went both potty and tinkle outside. It's about 8:30 right
now and I'm making bacon and eggs for myself and I'm going to
scramble two eggs (no milk) for the puppy just because I know how
good egg is for his coat. I know that Tiko probably wouldn't be
your first choice for a name but I promise after I do some good
research on the internet I'll add some good Germanology to the
name. Either way, all is well. Thank you so much for taking great
care of him until I came along. His temperament is AMAZING and just
loves to cuddle.

Thanks again, talk to you all later,”
